Emergency calls are answered 24/7. For a burning smell, sparks or lost power, calling is the fastest way to get an electrician.

If you see smoke or flames, get out. Leave the house and call 911 from outside. Don't try to find the source.
Turn off the affected circuit. Switch its breaker off at the panel. If you can't tell which one, and it's safe to stand at the panel, turn off the main.
Don't reset a breaker more than once. A breaker that trips again is protecting you from a fault. Forcing it back on can start a fire.
Check whether it's just your house. If the whole street is dark, it's an outage. Report it to your utility, whether that's TECO, Duke Energy or WREC.
